Neuma HYDRATE™ Ingredients

Studies have shown that exposure to pharmacological substance, particularly those psychedelic in nature, can often trigger a condition called hypohydration.
This condition is better described as a negative water balance in the system by the process of elimination via sweating, modified thermal regulation, and other conventional methods. (1a)

Neuma HYDRATE™ contains over 2100 milligrams of sodium variants to replenish the electrolyte imbalance brought on by the potential hypohydration. It is also prescribed that the product be mixed in water to aid in the rehydration process.

Advanced cases of hypohydration result in feelings of dizziness, confusion, delirium, and other physical feelings of weakness and discomfort. (1b)

GABA is the short form name for γ (gamma)-Aminobutyric acid. This is the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain and is increasingly recognized to have a significant role in the pathophysiology of the certain mental disorders. (2a)

Studies have also been published to show links between individuals with reduced levels of this inhibitory neurotransmitter and major depression disorders. In addition, similar findings have been found that link GABA with the ability for the brain to regulate stresses within the brain. Brain stress is hypothesized to be the cause for mood disorders. Initial data is showing that oral intake of GABA provide beneficial results on the brain and psyche. (2b)

Inositol is a sugar that is produced naturally in the body to provide cellular structure. Inositol has a wide range of potential health benefits including insulin management, cholesterol management, and metabolic disease prevention. Neuma HYDRATE™ has included this due to the research indicating that inositol can potentially reduce symptoms of depression and mood disorder (3a)

Studies are emerging that show inositol as a potential trigger for neurotransmitter manufacture in the brain (3b). Treatments involving ketamine rely heavily on reconfiguring how the brain relays signals and neurotransmitters serve as the brain's method for data relay.

Taurine is the common name for 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid. Taurine is typically introduce to the body via diet or the catabolism of the amino acid cysteine.

Taurine has a well documented list of health benefits, including several neurological benefits. Taurine exhibits strong neuroprotective effects such as preventing toxicity in neurons and astrocytes. In additions, taurine provides protection at the tissue and cellular level; preventing damage due to oxidative stress, mitochondrial stress, and inflammation. With regard to the brain, taurine has shown the ability to prevent several negative abnormal conditions such as neural overexcitability and oxidation. (4a)

L-theanine is an amino acid commonly found in green and match tea. Amino acids are proteins that are casually referred to as the building blocks of life (5a).

L-theanine has been observed to provide numerous health benefits. It's been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, and boost mental clarity (5b).

L-theanine has also been shown to improve cognition and subsequently enhancing working memory and function (5c).

Magnesium is a mineral that is readily present in the human body. Magnesium is required for energy production, oxidative phosphorylation, and glycolysis. It contributes to the structural development of bone and is required for the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and the antioxidant glutathione. Magnesium also plays a role in the active transport of calcium and potassium ions across cell membranes, a process that is important to nerve impulse conduction, muscle contraction, and normal heart rhythm (6a).

Magnesium is a crucial mineral to the nervous system. Magnesium is crucial for synaptic plasticity, which is necessary for learning and memory (6b), thus supporting the idea that magnesium enriched hydration solutions like Neuma Hydration™ could promote neuroplasticity.

What We Left Out

Caffeine - Neuma HYDRATE™ is certified caffeine free. Caffeine is not recommended for usage during days of treatment due to side effects that can be encountered.
Refined sugars - Refined sugars have long been known to artificially spike dopamine levels in the brain. Neuma HYDRATE™ is formulated with non-nutritive, plant based sugars.
Artificial Dyes - Neuma HYDRATE™ does not include any artificial food dyes. Many food dyes are linked to a multitude of negative side effects like hyperactivity, irritability, and migraines. Many energy and sports drinks include these dyes.
