Government in Action

At Neuma Health, our mission goes beyond providing innovative solutions for mental health. We are deeply committed to advocating for the well-being of veterans and ensuring that effective therapies like MDMA-assisted therapy are recognized and accessible. Today, I had the rare opportunity to witness government in action firsthand, and it was an experience that reaffirmed our dedication to being involved in governmental matters that impact mental health.

A Day in DC: Sharing Our Stories

Despite living just a short drive from Washington, DC, I seldom make the trip. However, today was different. At the invitation of Juliana Mercer and Healing Breakthrough, I joined other selfless veterans to share our stories of healing from PTSD with both Congressmen and Senators across party lines.

What We Encountered

What I saw today was nothing like I had imagined. Instead of encountering bureaucracy and red tape, I met empathetic decision-makers and staffers genuinely interested in veterans and the mental health issues we face. This experience was a powerful reminder that there are people in government who truly care about our well-being and are willing to listen and learn.

My Journey and the Birth of Neuma Health

As a 12-year Navy veteran, I understand the impact PTSD can have on one's life. My own

journey through healing from PTSD has been challenging yet life changing. It is this personal experience that fuels my passion and commitment to Neuma Health. I know firsthand the struggles veterans face, and it has become my mission to ensure they receive the support and therapies they need to heal.

The Importance of Education

The biggest takeaway from my visit was the ongoing need for education. It became clear that everyone connected to MDMA, the FDA, or psychedelics must continue to educate and urge the FDA to do the right thing by looking at the science. There is a wealth of research supporting the efficacy of MDMA-assisted therapy for treating PTSD going back to the 50’s when it was first introduced, and it is our responsibility to ensure that this knowledge is shared with those in positions of power.

Our Commitment

At Neuma Health, we are committed to continuing this fight. Our veterans deserve better, and we will not stop advocating for the therapies and treatments that can help them heal. We believe in the power of MDMA-assisted therapy and are dedicated to working with government agencies, lawmakers, and other stakeholders to make it accessible to those who need it most.

How You Can Help

1. Stay Informed: Educate yourself about the benefits of MDMA-assisted therapy and the

current state of research. Share this information with your network to raise awareness.

2. Advocate: Reach out to your local representatives and express your support for

MDMA-assisted therapy. Personal stories and voices from the community can make a

significant impact.

3. Support Veterans: Engage with organizations that support veterans and their mental health. Volunteer, donate, or simply listen to their stories and offer your support.

Moving Forward

My visit to DC was just the beginning. Neuma Health is committed to being actively involved in matters that affect mental health and the well-being of our veterans. We will continue to advocate for the recognition and approval of MDMA-assisted therapy and other innovative treatments. Together, we can create a future where our veterans receive the care and support they deserve.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Let's continue to fight for better mental health solution and support our veterans every step of the way.
